Troiano Releases New Web Ad on "PAC-Man Marino"

Nick Troiano, an independent, citizen-funded candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 10th district, today released a new web ad calling attention to the special interest groups that are bankrolling Congressman Tom Marino's re-election campaign.

The two-minute video, being promoted through social media channels, features "PAC-Man Marino" and his special interest ghosts (including Comcast, the American Bankers Association, and Lockheed Martin) marching in local Halloween parades. So far, volunteers in costumes handed out thousands of flyers with key facts about Marino's fundraising in parades in Selinsgrove, Wellsboro, and Towanda.

"The voters deserve to know the truth about how Tom Marino is attempting to buy his way back into Congress by accepting most of his campaign funding from special interest groups outside of our district," said Troiano. "We need new leadership to end the system of legalized bribery that has paralyzed and corrupted our politics today."

As of October 15th, Marino raised $493,673.92 from political actions committees (PACs), comprising more than half of his total fundraising, according to the Federal Election Commission. A July analysis of Marino's fundraising revealed that a majority (56%) of these contributions came from corporations and other groups that directly stand to benefit from Marino's legislation or committee activity.

Troiano is the only candidate who refuses to accept contributions from PACs, lobbyists, corporations, or unions. Troiano also supports the American Anti-Corruption Act, which would prohibit members of Congress from raising funds from industries they regulate.
